One rectangular cargo pocket with flap centered on the front of each thigh. Upper portion of the Overalls is back or dark grey. Using only a top undershirt is acceptable. Black non-textured material, either one-piece or two-piece construction with no visible zippers or logos. 
If the seal is not incorporated as part of the undersuit, a balaclava or other similar covering is acceptable. Neck seal is black in color with vertical ribbing or being smooth in appearance. Brow and edge of the helmet have a thin bead detail trim. A gray lining is present around the eyes. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Armor is weathered with shades of grey. A white Cowl wraps around the entire helmet. Helmet has a rectangular vent with grating mesh. The following costume components are present and appear as described below. GML’s and costumers must consider both text and pictures (CRL and Reference) when reviewing the costume. Text descriptions are only one part of the guideline. Requirements for all 501st costumes are proportional to the wearer in scale, fit and size. Measurements given in this document are intended to be approximate and generalized not criteria for approval. GMLs uncertain about an aspect of submitted costume shall post questions in the appropriate DL/GML peer review section of the Legion forum.

This document is not intended to be a detailed how-to on costume construction rather a visual guide to be used for 501st costume approval. GMLs are free to approve this costume type. This Visual Guide has been reviewed by the detachment staff and the LMO team and is certified for use as a minimum approval guideline for GMLs. Items listed in red are intended to further enhance the finished costume. In the page below, items listed in blue are recommended features that will improve the quality of the costume. The Marines are distinguished by their unique visor gear: synthmesh designed to keep out various hazards such as snow, sand, airborne fungus, and ash.įor 501st membership only the requirements in black need to be met. They are most often armed with DC-15A blaster rifles. Galactic Marines wear special body armor with maroon coloration. The Galactic Marines, originally known as the 21st Nova Corps of the 4th Sector Army, is an elite unit created as the Grand Army of the Republic diversified during the Clone Wars.
